Likeys Ltd and Sandbaggers Ltd, the joint organisers of Britain’s foremost ultra event ‘British Ultra’ have taken the decision to build upon the success of the inaugural event with a restructuring of the organisational team.

Although we will continue to work closely with one another on our events, ownership of the Ultra in it’s 2008 form (hosted in Scotland) will be renamed the ‘Scottish Ultra’ and fall under the control of the Sandbaggers team.

The dates for Scottish Ultra will remain 3rd – 8th May 2009 with enquiries for this event being handled by Sandbaggers (www.sand-baggers.com)

As for the British Ultra, it would be a dream for the Likeys Team to bring the British Ultra to Wales. It won’t happen in 2009, but there are already plans for the future and 2010 is a distinct possibility.

The Scottish Ultra and the proposed British Ultra wont be clashing so doing both in one year would a challenge in itself, but couple that with doing the Sandbaggers Eagle Isle Ultra and the Likeys Beacons Ultra in December, plus another little wobble in the planning for the Summer of 2009 that Likeys have up their sleeve could mean that any one daft enough to do it, could have a full years hard racing all laid out for them within the bounds of the UK.
