Race Structure

The British Ultra is a 6 day multi staged self sufficient race in a very remote British environment. The race will traverse two beautiful islands on the West Coast of Scotland with overnight stops at secluded tented villages situated in simply stunning locations, often with wild mountain backdrops and unsurpassed views towards either the sea or lochs.
Competitors will be expected to carry all their provisions for the race including food (concession – see rules ), cooking items, clothing, sleeping equipment (tented accommodation provided) and other safety gear.

Checkpoints will be spaced along the route at regular safe intervals, where racers will be able replenish water provisions. Water and limited medical support will be provided at the checkpoints.

A factor that might be partly lost on the athletes during the day whilst they are competing, the location of the race provides some of the most beautiful scenery available within the British Isles, with the guaranteed sighting of a multitude of wild fauna and flora including Red and Roe Deer, Otters, Seals, Wild Goats etc.
